A reading corner you will actually use
A comfortable seat, useful light, and a little permission to pause.

A comfortable seat, useful light, and a little permission to pause. Start with one useful change, then let your space tell you what it needs next.
Choose an everyday spot
Look for a corner that feels comfortable at the time of day you like to read. You do not need a separate room or a perfect window. A quiet section of your living room or bedroom can work if it has enough space to sit comfortably.
Get the basics right
Use a chair that supports your body and a light that makes the page easy to see. Avoid glare and keep cords out of walking routes. If you read on a device, choose a position that does not force you to crane your neck.
Keep useful things nearby
Place your current book and a drink on a stable surface within reach. A small basket can hold a blanket or a few magazines. Resist turning the corner into storage for everything else that has no home.
Make a small ritual
Try ten quiet minutes after breakfast or before bed. Leave the book where you can see it, and put distractions somewhere else if that helps. The corner becomes meaningful through use, not through the number of accessories around it.
